About this Event
This event is designed to provide networking opportunities and educational break out sessions led by successful and driven business women from across the country. Experience the powerhouse keynote speaker from Apple, Lauren Gruwell, as she speaks about the power of telling your story. At the end of the day, stop by and bring your resume to the career fair to network with companies that have proven their support of women in the business world. Some companies include: Gallo Sales Company, Kohls, CED, TEKsystems, Wells Fargo and Giants Community Fund.
The breakout sessions include:
Salary Negotiation w/ Jackie McClain: After retiring, Jackie has served 6 years on the Board of the Chico Art Center. She is currently Chair of the Greater Chico Area SCORE chapter and is campus liaison for the local AAUW chapter. In this workshop you will gain confidence in your negotiation style through facilitated discussion, role-play and you will learn how to identify and articulate your personal value.
Project Management w/ Emily Murphy: As an Engagement Manager at Dynamic Signal, Emily has implemented some of the company's largest customers. In this workshop you will engage in the practice of initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing the work of a team to achieve specific goals and meet specific success criteria at the specified time.
Personal Brand w/ Molly Davis: Throughout her tenure, Molly has focused on driving sustained growth through consumer affinity, as well as establishing Gallo’s presence in the premium wine category, which has grown from five premium brands in 2005 to over 30 brands today. In this workshop you will learn how to overcome imposter syndrome through discovery of self worth while establishing a look in the business world.
Women In Entrepreneurship w/ Jean Bjork & Frances Nevarez: Jean is committed to the empowerment, education and promotion of all individuals to become the best they can be, regardless of race, gender, or age. Bjork Construction prides itself on the hiring and procuring of diverse suppliers, subcontractors and employees. In 2006, the company became a certified Women Owned Company. Jean’s beliefs and values of equality in the construction industry remain a critical component of her company’s culture. Frances Nevarez is the Cofounder and CEO of FutbolConnect, Inc., a mobile app-based social network that connects and promotes interaction between futbol fans, players and coaches across the world. Ms. Nevarez acquired her vast knowledge and experience while working in Corporate America. She is a successful entrepreneur, speaker, relationship selling expert, investor and philanthropist. She has received numerous awards for her outstanding professional and personal achievements. Come listen to both of these powerful women entrepreneurs as they give advice on women and entrepreneurship.
